Winter is approaching and winter is always a horrible season for people who are migrating. Lifes are at risk because of the very low temperatures on these months. One more year, European Union authorities and its partners did not make any big step to avoid that thousands of people seeking for safety remain living outdoors on this period.
So we all need to act. No Name Kitchen provides food, warm clothes, medical care and solidarity to the people stuck on these borders. And now we also need to provide firewood. We have made a crowdfunding that aims to raise the needed budget for providing wood for cooking food and warming up the abandoned factories or old houses where thousand of people found a “shelter” in Europe.

As an independent organisation (which allow us to denounce freely all the vulnerabilities to Human Rights that we witness at the borders), No Name Kitchen relies on fundraising for covering our activities. Our current budgets cover more than a thousand food and hygiene-pack distributions on a weekly basis. However, at the time of writing, it does not cover the distribution of firewood, requiring increased funds through this crowdfunding campaign.
For €100, 1 cubic metre of firewood can be acquired, expected to warm up a squat of 70 – 150 people for half a week. With the aim of €5000, NNK expects to make firewood distributions for 7500 people.
