whO WE ARE?
No Name Kitchen was born in Belgrade in the winter of 2017, when volunteers started cooking alongside thousands of people left to fend for themselves after the Hungarian border closure. From those first days, NNK has grown into a movement of grassroots activists committed to defending the rights of people on the move.
We operate through a shared structure of interconnected projects that allows us to move fast, respond to urgent needs, and stay united in vision, combining humanitarian emergency relief with political action to achieve major milestones through strategic litigation, advocacy campaigns, and awareness-raising.
Our vision—what we dream of—is freedom of movement.
Until that vision becomes reality, we work to transform Europe’s racist and violent borders into safer and non-discriminatory pathways through three main tactics:
1 DIRECT SUPPORT
Implementing field projects that provide assistance to People on the Move at spots where violence is systematically practiced with the backing of EU institutions.
2 POLITICAL ACTION
Advocating and pursuing legal action to hold perpetrators accountable, influence policymakers, and promote rights-based policies at both EU and national levels.
3 AWARENESS-RAISING
Exposing the roots and consequences of the European border regime to mobilize civil society and inspire collective solutions.
